Welcome to Ten Thousand AI ("the App"). By using the App, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. About the App

Ten Thousand AI is an AI-powered educational tutoring app for teens ages 9 and older. The App helps students with homework and learning across all school subjects.

2. Eligibility

• The App is intended for users ages 9 and older.
• Users under 18 should use the App with parental or guardian knowledge and consent.
• By signing in, you confirm you are the account holder or have permission to use the App.

3. Account & Sign-In

• Sign-in is available via Apple ID or Google Account.
• You are responsible for maintaining account security.
• The App enforces single-device sign-in. Signing in on a new device will sign out the previous device.

4. Subscription & Payment

• The App offers a 3-day free trial, followed by $9.99 USD/month.
• Payment is processed through Apple's App Store via StoreKit. We do not collect payment information.
• Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled 24 hours before the period ends.
• Manage or cancel your subscription in Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions.
• Refunds are handled by Apple per their refund policy.

5. Acceptable Use

The App is for educational purposes. You agree NOT to:

• Use the App for any illegal, harmful, or abusive purpose.
• Attempt to bypass content moderation or safety features.
• Send inappropriate, offensive, sexual, violent, or hateful content.
• Use the App to harass, bully, or intimidate others.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the App.

The App includes automated content moderation via OpenAI's moderation API. All messages and images are screened for safety. Inappropriate content is blocked, and guardians are notified via email.

6. AI Tutoring Disclaimer

• The AI tutor ("Tenny") is designed to assist with homework and learning. It is NOT a substitute for professional teachers or tutors.
• AI responses may occasionally be inaccurate. Verify important answers with your teacher or parent.
• The App intentionally does not give direct answers—it guides you through step-by-step problem solving.

7. Content & Intellectual Property

• The App, its design, code, and content are owned by James Deng.
• You retain ownership of content you submit.
• By using the App, you grant us a limited license to process your content for tutoring purposes.

8. Privacy

Your use is governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your data.

9. Termination

• You may stop using the App and cancel your subscription at any time.
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
• To request account deletion, email tenthousandai@gmail.com.

10. Limitation of Liability

The App is provided "as is" without warranties. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages from your use of the App.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms. The "Last updated" date will change. Continued use constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.
